ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jozza was born in 1958 in central Brazil. His passion for art began when he was very young, and was inspired by his mother, Maria, who was an art teacher. Jozza married very young, at the age of 17, which made it difficult to go to Art school due to the economic responsibility of raising a family. Jozza turned to sports and became a great soccer player. He Atletico, one of the best state teams. In 1986 he was invited to play for a Croatian Team in San Francisco, California. so he moved to the United States and lived there playing soccer and working in restaurants for 4 years. In 1990 he went back to Brazil and during the next 4 years, he decided to do some work on canvas, utilizing only the talent and inspiration within, as there was no structure or technique.
Jozza returned to the United State to pursue his true calling for art. In 1996, he relocated to Miami, Florida with his second wife Tatiana and his 2 year old daughter, Jordanna. While working at a restaurant on Lincoln he met Romero Britto, a Brazilian artist and owner of a nearby Art Gallery. They spoke often and Britto invited Jozza to come work with him. Jozza was very excited to have the privilege to work with a master and became the first and only Britto Student. In 2000, Jozza had his first exhibition of his own work at Biscayne Tower I in downtown Miami where he sold some of his work. Since then he has become a well known artist whose unique creations is now shown at different galleries.
