ABOUT THE ARTIST
With more than 30 years of experience, Liliana Mendez has established herself as one of the most talented sculptors in Colombia. She began working from an early age at her parent’s sculpture workshop where she learned to handle casting materials and other various techniques. This is where she developed her passion and love for art.
Years later she studied at Guerrero Academy, where she was trained in other techniques that allowed her to develop a unique and innovative style. Her exceptional style has been acknowledged within Colombia, the United States, France, Germany, Mexico, Venezuela, Costa Rica and Panama. Her works are known for their plasticity, delicacy, and style. Her sculptures range from ballerinas and tightrope walkers, to colorful circus characters. These sculptures express her love for ballet and the performing arts.
